We all have layers, shells, challenges—it is our choice to step out of them.
Make me one with everything
We are connected. We are bound. We are entangled. We should embrace this.
Shed your skin
We need to remember the difference between the things we do, even the things we love, and what we really are.
How am I not myself?
Who sits behind our eyes?
Surf’s Up!
You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.
The physics of the yoga practice
To have a more dedicated yoga practice, we have two choices: we can do the practice in isolated spaces for short periods of time and try to amp those moments up, or we can let the practice start to permeate everything. Which do we think will be more effective?
I wish you were here to see it
The intensity of our practice isn’t about the poses we do; it’s about well we discern what will really serve us, and how diligently we pursue it.
Too hot in the hot tub
I used to think, when the sutras said the practice came in three gradations, mild, medium and spicy, that spicy must mean lots of backbends.
But the real measure of the practice, the real spicyness, is the extent to which we can assert our right to what we need.
